Working out

I have been trying to lose weight for awhile now, it is not working well in large parts thanks to medical issues I have.  However I keep working out, because of the other side effects.

I have fibromyalgia, IBS, multiple back problems, OCD, ADD, Aspergers, migraines, all of which have gotten better with the working out daily.

Conversion Therapy is bad

More Religious though

My mom and D&D

My mom hates all magic games, and most role playing games.  She is convinced I will turn Satanist.  I think if anything I would turn Atheist as all my gaming buddies are Agnostic or Atheist, but whatever.  She is convinced thinking about magic will make me want to use magic in the real world, and no explaining that basic logic says that magic does not happen gets her to get past it.

At least I am not like this guy

Food for Sunday thought

Church

I grew up in a very large church.  Over the years I have been to quite a few churches, a couple larger than my first, my smaller.  I liked the small feeling at the small churches, but they never felt like home.

My mom and I are about as different as two Christians can be, without one being the crazy right wing kind.  She prefers small churches, I prefer large.  She prefers chuches that are very active during service, I do not. I prefer very structured services, she prefers that the leader follow what they feel God wants them to do in the moment.  I prefer a church that teaches love, my mom prefers that the church have love and fear of God in equal measure.

When I pray I lift my face toward the heavens.  When my mom prays her head is bowed.  I go to church to fill myself with love, I cannot say why my mom goes to church as I have never asked.  We view church and God so very differently, that we cannot understand each others view of church.

So much Nathan Fillion

Literary character quiz

"You are Lucy from the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. You are trusting and intensely loyal. You would go to the ends of the earth for your friends and would never betray them.

C.S. Lewis' series has captured the imaginations of children for centuries. First published from 1949-1954. The books present the adventures of children as central roles in the history of the fictional realm of Narnia. The first book written in the series (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) has been adapted most recently as a movie."

They are silly, but fun.  And Lucy is pretty darn awesome.

Reminds me a bit of Emily Dickinson

Random Geek for the afternoon

A bit of science

NALT

Proof of why NALT is needed.  I feel like if more people would take a step back and look at what they are doing they would realize why others disagree with them.  I doubt these people, mostly cause they have victimitis (a disease where they require themselves to always be the victim, not the reason).

NALT stands for Not All Like That.

Last night I went out with a friend to some live music.  We discussed my thoughts on Christianity en route.  Like most of my friends she is Atheist, or at least closer to Atheist than Theist.  I pointed out that if you look at the 10 commandments, and Jesus' teachings you see Wil Wheaton's law in all of it, so if you are not being a dick you are being a damned good Christian.

Do not be a dick to yourself, do not be a dick to others.  It is apparently too hard for some.

Now a quick joke from Episcopal memes:

More making fun of stupidity

I ... ok ... wait ... so ... ummm ... everyone is safer now, right? Two less idiots, I guess

Batman and Aspergers

Technically this is nothing to do with Batman, and all to do with Aspergers, but this comic gives a good idea to something I think.

People will always complain about everything you do, so I commonly do not change a thing I do until someone gives me a good reason that a change should happen, because I might be being asked to change something that people should get over, not get into.

A story too far

Spicy food makes me happy.  This might have something to do with it.  Also might explain why I get so ... happy when I eat something that is spicy with flavour (ie not hot for the sake of hot, but heat with awesome).  The rules about when I can eat the inside of a jalapeno will not change, but do make more sense when the science is understood.

I sometimes get super random

Rehearsal commonly increases the random (elections made the random even worse)

To make up for my random I give you a burning street light and a poem to go with it (neither of which are mine):

I am the Episcopalian who believes Buddha and Buddhism are great, and worthy of praise
